Medical Assistant Program
EDCOE is partnered with Marshal Medical Center to provide a Medical Assistant program that will prepare students with sufficient theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills to qualify for an entry-level position as a medical assistant in a hospital, clinic, or physician’s office. Upon satisfactory program completion, students are awarded a certificate. The graduate will also be qualified to take the CACMA and National exam for certification.
The program is designed to run four days a week, Monday through Thursday from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Externship hours would change to five days a week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
There is also a prerequisite Medical Terminology course to be completed prior to the start of the in-person training. This course will be provided by EDCOE.

Medical Assistant Course Fee Q & A
Q: What is the course fee payment expectation; is there a payment plan?
A: Yes, the total fees are $5,900.00. Upon acceptance to the program, the course fees are due. The
$850.00 is a non-refundable deposit. The fees are due in two installments. We expect that you will turn in your signed
Agreement to Terms at the first installment.
Q: Can I make payment arrangements?
A: Yes, you are able to make payments prior to the deadline.
Q: What will happen if I can’t make the full $5,900 by the deadline?
A: You are encouraged to turn in your signed Agreement to Terms and pay as much as you can of the
$5,900.00 by the deadline. If, however, you are not able to, your status will change from “Active” status
to “Alternate” status, until you become current on the class fees, at which time you will be reclassified
back to “Active”.
Q: What does it mean to be changed from “Active” to “Alternate”?
A: If you are reclassified from “Active” to “Alternate”, it means that your spot can be filled by a candidate
who qualifies and has been interviewed and is either on the current alternate waiting list AND is able
to pay the full $5,900.00 amount.
Other costs incurred by students:
